Where not to store your comic books
How many of you have read this story?
Hoboken Police say that a woman from the
900 block of Willow Avenue called them on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.
and reported that her vintage Superman comic books, Batman comic books, and Spiderman comic
books, which she said were worth more than $80,000, were missing,
according to Det. Sgt. Sam Williams.
The comic collector told police she
had left six boxes of Marvel comic books in the basement of her
building in a room that she uses for storage. The area is next to a
laundry room that other residents use, she said, so basically, any
local Joker could have been Robin them. Yea bad joke I know.
The six boxes were
filled with over 100 mint-condition comics wrapped in plastic that date
back over 40 years, according to the police report.
Police are still investigating the situation, Williams said last week.
Now I have to ask, if you know these books are worth over 80 grand, YES $80,000!! Why would you have them in a shared basement? Sell one of those damn books and buy a safe deposit or even a safe.
It was only 100 books I would of had those bad boys stuffed in a corner in the apartment. Maybe this was the old lady who lived in a shoe and she didn\'t want the books to smell like sole.
